Privacynotice

What the studio learns about you through this site, what it does with it and what you can ask for. In short: only what you send us, used to answer you, never sold.

Updated 12 October 2026. If this page changes, this date changes with it.

(Who)

Who is responsible

Studio CAVA, an architecture and interior design studio in San José and Guanacaste, Costa Rica, runs cava.design and decides what happens to what you send through it.

For anything on this page, write to [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +506 7173 7336.

(What you send)

What you send us

The project form asks what you are planning, where, whether you own the land, your budget and timing if you know them, your name and email, and, if you want, a phone or WhatsApp number and a note. It reaches the studio as an email. With it come the date, the country you wrote from and your IP address, which help us tell people from spam. The site keeps no other copy.

If you answer "how did you find us?" after sending, the answer follows in the same email thread.

The free-call page sends nothing by itself: it writes a WhatsApp message with the day and time you picked, and you decide whether to send it.

When you write to us by email or WhatsApp, the message travels through your provider and ours, under their own terms.

The client portal is not open yet: nothing typed there is sent or stored.

(In your browser)

What stays in your browser

The cost estimator, the land price map, the permit route and the climate on each town page work in your browser. What you choose or type in them is not sent to us, and the cost PDF is made by your own browser.

The maps come from OpenFreeMap and the code that draws them from jsDelivr. Your browser asks those servers for them directly, so they see your IP address, as any website you visit does.

(Cookies)

Cookies

The site sets no cookies. It keeps one note in your browser for the length of the visit, so the opening animation does not play again on every page; closing the tab erases it.

(What for)

What we use it for

To answer you, to prepare a proposal and, if we work together, to run the project. We do not sell or rent your details, and we do not add you to a mailing list unless you ask.

(Who else)

Who else handles it

  • Cloudflare hosts the site, protects it from attacks and routes the studio's email. It sees the IP address of every visit.
  • Google (Gmail) holds the studio's inbox, where your enquiry arrives.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send from [email protected].

Some of these companies keep data in the United States.

(How long)

How long we keep it

An enquiry stays in the studio's email while it is useful for following up and, if we work together, as part of the project's records. If we do not, ask and we delete it.

(Your rights)

What you can ask

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it or ask us to delete it, by writing to [email protected]. We may ask you to confirm it is you before we answer.

Costa Rica's Law 8968 protects these rights, and the Agencia de Protección de Datos de los Habitantes (PRODHAB) hears complaints. If you live elsewhere, your own country's law may give you more.
